We spend most of our lives hurrying from one thing to the next, often leaving little time to breathe. Those with children may find themselves even busier as they drive them to various activities. We live in a constant state of hurry. When do we stop? No one has time to smell the roses anymore because that could interrupt the flow of chaos that we find ourselves in far too often.
How many moments are we missing out on? How often are we able to appreciate what is happening in front of us? Instead of enjoying the moment, we rush through it to get to the next moment so we can get to the one after that.
The moments that matter are often missed or hurried because our schedules do not allow for breaks. What if we slowed down? What if we took the time to enjoy each of the milestones that happen in our lives?
I have a feeling that we would cherish those moments. We would be able to find the time to take a breather. We believe that discipleship begins at birth, and that each moment that matters should be celebrated, never rushed. I offer the challenge this month that we find time to slow down, soak in the moments whatever they may be because, they matter.
